HawkEye Pro uses deep learning, a branch of artificial intelligence (AI), decades of soil data, and cutting-edge mapping software to create detailed maps of soil nutrient levels across an entire farm.
The next evolution of HawkEye is here, with HawkEye Pro by Ravensdown. Built on your knowledge, our expertise and the latest in farming tech, HawkEye Pro uses high-level machine learning to deliver on-the-ground results.
It's Ravensdown’s next-generation fertiliser planning tool that offers greater accuracy, scalability, and functionality than anything on the market, across sheep and beef and dairy systems.
For farmers, this means more value from every fertiliser dollar, while ensuring compliance and sustainability.
*Based on published, peer reviewed studies on variable rate strategies performed under NZ conditions and are representative of typical gains expected from variable rate strategies but actual gains will be farm specific.
HawkEye Pro is an innovative system which could reduce fertiliser costs through increase nutrient use efficiency, drive precision application and improve production for New Zealand’s sheep and beef, and soon dairy and arable farms.
It creates detailed maps of soil nutrient levels across an entire farm.
It uses data that is already in our system, including previous soil tests, to predict soil nutrient levels down to every 10x10m cell for sheep and beef farms.
It uses farms productivity to produce maps of where fertiliser should, and importantly should not, be placed – calculating the right product and rates to maintain production.
Precision fertiliser plans can deliver benefits between $50-$150 per hectare through efficient placement and rate selection of fertiliser, and the resulting increase in land productivity, where soil fertility is holding it back.*
HawkEye Pro gives us Spatial Intelligence to see what’s really happening, a Smart Zone System to manage it better, and Precision Placement to make sure we put it where it pays.

Early adopters release for sheep and beef farmers in September 2025 (this release is limited to North Island based farmers utilising aerial application).
The September release will target farmers seeking a maintenance or submaintenance application.
The full functionality for sheep and beef along with the dairy release will follow in Autumn 2026 with the arable release later in 2026.
Our South Island shareholders are important to us, and we’ll be rolling out the HawkEye Pro technology to South Island sheep and beef farmers in early 2026.
It is applying fertiliser across the farm landscape to meet nutrient requirements. Because the land is variable in its nutrient requirement the fertiliser application varies to match this, which drives nutrient use efficiency.
Super-based products (Superphosphate, Sulphur Super 15, Sulphur Super 20 and Sulphur Super 30) only at this stage, as its particle size distribution and P to S ratio is ideal for variable rate application.
